The Hepatology Diagnostic Laboratory is a reference laboratory directed and supervised by members of the faculty of the University of Miami, School of Medicine, Division of Hepatology. The laboratory offers clinical and research assays to hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and other laboratories. The staff is dedicated to teaching the interpretation of newly developed assays and to fostering a better understanding of liver diseases among physicians, laboratory and other health science personnel. Specific questions concerning specimen requirements, handling and assay results should be directed to the Hepatology diagnostic laboratory at 305 243-6500.
 
Laboratory Hours of Operation 
The Hepatology Diagnostic Laboratory personnel are available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Quality Assurance
The quality of the pre and post analytical processes are routinely verified for proper performance at the Hepatology Diagnostic Laboratory. Routine assessment of each assay is established by using multiple controls and/or standards with each assay. The laboratory participates in the College of American Pathologists (CAP) proficiency program. Results of the survey are submitted to the State of Florida which is in compliance with the state regulations.
