The Miami Veterans Affairs Medical Center is a tertiary-care hospital with over 300 acute-care beds and a 240-bed nursing home. Geriatric services include acute care, extended care, nursing home care, home care, primary outpatient care, and geriatric evaluation and management care. The Miami Veterans Affairs Medical Center partners the University of Miami School of Medicine in a broad array of clinical, educational, and research endeavors.

Jackson Memorial Hospital is an accredited, not-for-profit, major tertiary teaching hospital. This county hospital is one of the largest hospitals under a single license in the United States, with 1,567 total beds and comprehensive care in 48 areas of clinical services. Geriatric care is available in an outpatient clinic and in a specialized acute geriatric unit (AGU) for inpatient care.

The Miami Jewish Home and Hospital for the Aged is a health-care organization located on 20 tropically landscaped acres about a 15-minute drive from the medical campus. The facility provides a smorgasbord of geriatric services and housing, from independent apartments to 92 assisted-living apartments, to a 368-bed nursing home, to a 68-bed short-term rehabilitation center, to a 32-bed hospital. The facility is fully JCAHO-accredited, has a strong affiliation with the University of Miami School of Medicine, and employs only board-certified geriatricians as primary care providers.  Additional services include subacute care, day care, home services, a community center, outpatient services with a full complement of subspecialty services, a community mental health center, and special care units in the nursing home for dementia patients.

The center providers state-of-the-art long-term care and offers a complete range of health care and social services. The center is an educational partner of the University of Miami School of Medicine.
