Union County Methamphetamine Treatment Project
North Georgia’s Union County Commission, New Hope Counseling (North Georgia’s largest State certified substance abuse treatment agency), and the University of Miami evaluation team are expanding treatment for 302 adults with methamphetamine abuse and associated problems in Blairsville, GA. The need for methamphetamine treatment expansion in rural North Georgia has been well documented by countless national, state and local sources. Therefore, New Hope Counseling Center is implementing the evidence-based Matrix treatment program over a three year period. The University of Miami evaluation team is performing a comprehensive process and outcome evaluation.  Clients are given two instruments at baseline, posttest, and at six month follow up.
