Gilbert Saint-Jean, MD, MPH, PhD

Dr. Gilbert Saint-Jean is the coordinator and lead evaluator of TPEG. He joined the University of Miami eight years ago as a doctoral student pursuing a PhD in Epidemiology. After graduation, Dr. Saint-Jean was employed by TPEG as a Senior Research Associate. Dr. Saint-Jean has had extensive experience running hospitals and public systems in Haiti and the Miccosukee Indians’ Health Department. His research interests are in the areas of health disparities, adolescent substance abuse, and access to health care.

 

Neta Peleg-Oren, PhD
Research Assistant Professor

Dr. Neta Peleg-Oren recently joined the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health. A native of Israel, Dr. Peleg-Oren brings to TPEG her research, clinical experiences as a social worker and exposure to diverse cultural populations in both Israel and the US. Her interests are in the areas of mental health and substance abuse epidemiology, evaluation of the effectiveness of a variety of prevention and treatment programs for at-risk populations, impact of substance abuse on the family and community, and engagement in diverse groups. Dr. Peleg-Oren's research addresses these areas.
